Primary responsibilities include interpreting the spoken and written word from and into English and 西班牙语 langu年龄s; translation and documentation; research and development. The essential function of the position within the organization is to interpret legal proceedings for non-English speaking or hearing impaired persons to ensure due process. The position is responsible for interpreting the spoken or written word from a source langu年龄 to a target langu年龄.  The position works under direct supervision according to set procedures. 在监督下, court interpreters perform a wide variety of langu年龄 interpretation activities on an assigned and as-needed basis for the 19^th Judicial Circuit 法院s.  Incumbents perform duties as an interpreter for courtroom and other legal proceedings, 这可能包括, 但不限于, 让提审, 初步听证会, 审前会议, 法庭审判.

Bachelor’s degree in English, the source langu年龄, or a closely related field. 

Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Two years of court  or legal related work experience preferred.

Certified 法庭口译员 certification issued by the Florida Supreme 法院, Office of the State 法院s Administrator.

Individuals hired without certification, must become certified within one year from date of hire; this one-year requirement may be modified by the board on a case-by-case basis, if necessary; but, only in exceptional circumstances.
